Dr. Kam is professor Emeritus and past Chair of the Theory and Composition Department of the University of Miami School of Music. He is the “Composer In Residence”,
with the SFYS, after serving as a consultant for 8 years and served as Associate Conductor of the youth symphony.
Among his many honors, in 1970-72 Dr. Kam was Composer In Residence for Honolulu and the State of Hawaii through
the Ford Foundation/ MENC Contemporary Music Project. Dr. Kam helps develop the young musician in the art of modern
music techniques and performance.
